This idea has shaped my art and the stories I tell. I recall the memories of growing up with my immigrant grandfather and my time of service in the US Military, and my work draws on these to explore the human condition through the lens of community and the complexities of the American identity.
Each story reflects the experiences of real people across our nation. Sharing these experiences and having them heard will tie us together and remind us that our strength lies in unity. That is the purpose of my work.
Right now, I'm working on Beasts Crying in the Wilderness, a story about the first generation of exoskeleton soldiers in the U.S. military.
